Here comes the bride...

Well, Hello, There. First off, let me say, I HAVE MISSED YOU! So sorry it has been forever and a day since my last post, but I have been a bit preoccupied with planning the wedding and all of a sudden I'm 30 days out...eeek! Let me fill you in on what's been going on...

Engagement pictures were done back in March, on a typical "Spring" Seattle day. This means it was 40 degrees and raining, and of course I was wearing a white dress, leather jacket and suede shoes {not exactly rain gear}. I was less than pleased with the weather and how it would effect our photos, but I powered through, put on a smile, and the rain slowly subsided. Our photographer encouraged us to pretend it was 80 degrees and we were on the beaches of Hawaii. So we slipped off our shoes and frolicked through the sand in what felt like wet snow and made the best of it. It turned out to be such a fun day and one we will always remember!

Next up, my first of two bridal showers. Since my friends and family are North and South of Seattle and a dear friend and Bridesmaid, Lora offered to throw me one at her house near Seattle. She was the "hostess with the mostess" and I had such a fun day sipping wine threw a cute pink straw and catching up with my girlfriends.

And we can't forget about the most fun part of being a bride...The Bachelorette Party! Our destination was the beautiful Lake Tahoe, NV. I went to a wedding in Tahoe a few years back and simply fell in love with it. Not only is it breath taking, but since it's on the Nevada side, it's almost like a mini Las Vegas, with night clubs, casinos, and restaurants galore. Day drinking at the beach and clubbing at night? What more could a girl ask for on her bachelorette weekend!?

My Carrie Bradshaw moment

Two months ago I experienced what I call my "Carrie Bradshaw moment". My Mr. Big not only asked me to marry him, but he also completed my dream walk-in closet in the very same weekend. How did I get so lucky?? And although there was no Manolo, the sparkly diamond ring was a pretty good substitute ;)

When we moved in, this room was basically a concrete box with a hang bar already installed. We purchased this snap-in laminate flooring {it looks like real hard wood!} from Lumber Liquidators for under $300 and Wes installed it himself. With quite a few layers of self leveling concrete and some sweat, he was able to finish the floors in a couple weeks and it completely transformed the room. I made plenty of trips to Ikea for the perfect organizers and the room went from a concrete box to my own personal boutique. Of course, I am still putting the finishing touches on it, but every time I walk in I'm reminded of Carrie, and I can only hope to be half as fabulous as she was.

Until next time...

A little sequins goes a long way

I have been crushing over this sequin jacket for some time now and the new year was the perfect time to wear it! Sometimes, when you are feeling a little blah, just throw this baby on with a pair of great jeans and a tee-shirt and you're instantly the life of the party. Cheers!

Sequin jacket;
Here are some other sequin peices I'm loving!
